About

Alex Vasiev, PhD, is a multidisciplinary engineer with extensive R&D experience in both academia and consultancy. He is the Head of Biointerface at Springboard, where his primary focus is on the intersection of engineering, physics and biological systems. Before joining Springboard, Dr Vasiev managed front-end design and development at Oval (now SMC). In the field of drug delivery, Dr Vasiev has developed a range of innovations, including smart hydrogel microcarriers, patch pumps, soft-mist inhalers and several high-viscosity autoinjectors. He holds an MEng in Mechanical Engineering with Aeronautics and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from
the University of Glasgow (UK).
