About

Ilva Rupenthal is Associate Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology, University of Auckland, and the inaugural Director of the Buchanan Ocular Therapeutics Unit (BOTU), established in 2013. A pharmaceutical scientist by training, Dr Rupenthal’s research focusses primarily on the development of novel ocular drug delivery systems. She is an author on over 60 peer-reviewed journal articles and has attracted more than NZ$5.6 million in research funding.
