UPDATE AND NEWS FROM ONDRUGDELIVERY’S PUBLISHER IN RESPONSE TO COVID-19

UPDATE AND NEWS FROM ONDRUGDELIVERY’S PUBLISHER

Good afternoon.

The world, and our industry with it, has entered an unfamiliar and difficult period. I would like to take this opportunity to update you on how ONdrugDelivery can and will continue to provide its services uninterrupted, and tell you about some specific initiatives we’re launching to help our readers, authors and clients across the global industry.

We’re fortunate that ONdrugDelivery’s ability to operate as a business is not seriously impacted by the crisis as we are computer/telephone-based from end-to-end. We are so grateful that support from our readers, authors and advertisers holds strong. In light of this I am able to confirm that:

  • Our planned schedule of magazine issues will continue uninterrupted. Production of the April 2020 “Pulmonary & Nasal Drug Delivery” issue is underway and it is shaping up to be the biggest and best Pulmonary & Nasal Delivery issue we have ever published.
  • We will continue to maintain our drug delivery conference calendar, but better – with more frequent updates and additional support for event partners in publicising their rescheduled and digital events.

With our regular business continuing nearly as normal, thoughts turn to what we can do over-and-above that, to help.

SO HOW CAN WE HELP?…

We’ve decided to make everything coronavirus-specific that we publish free in every way – free for companies to post information and free to readers to read. The only advertising near this content will be adverts we offer without charge to our conference partners to publicise their events.

NEW! COVID-19 NEWS SECTION

We’ve launched a new section of our site dedicated to coronavirus-specific, drug delivery-relevant news. You can visit it now – you’ll see a new link COVID-19 NEWS, to the centre-right, on our homepage top menu, and we’ve started populating the COVID-19 NEWS page with information/announcements. I’m pleased with how it’s looking already. We will continue to update this constantly for the foreseeable future, adding new stories as they emerge, and I hope it will become a useful resource for industry.

Content you’ll find there includes:

  • press releases about specific work drug delivery and related organisations are doing in relation to the outbreak
  • how companies are prioritising specific projects in response to the virus
  • announcements on repurposing existing operations to focus on anti-COVID-19 projects
  • particular know-how, services, technology, IP, or products being provided, pro bono or not, to help in the fight against COVID-19

We will continue to update this constantly for the foreseeable future, adding new stories as they emerge, and I hope it will become a useful resource for industry.

Free to post, free to read.

We’ve decided to make everything coronavirus-specific that we publish free in every way – free for companies to post information and free to readers to read. We’ve launched a new section of our site dedicated to coronavirus-specific, drug delivery-relevant news. And we will post video recordings of presentations, webinars or other corporate videos.

Call for News/Announcements

If you or your organisation has anything you’d like to report to our readers, that’s COVID-19-specific and drug delivery-related, email me, and we will consider it for publication.

VIDEOS/PRESENTATIONS/WEBINAR RECORDINGS

We can post video recordings of presentations, webinars (not live, but recordings of) or other corporate videos including / technology demonstrations etc. We’re particularly keen to include presentations that have perhaps been prepared but never been given due to conferences being cancelled or rescheduled. It’s a means to avoid wasted effort and to ensure that the information is there and accessible by the industry. However, we would only do this where it is not competing with, or in any way detrimental to, conference organisers.

Free to post, free to view.

Call for Videos/Presentations

If a company/presenter can record their talk, we can post it on ONdrugDelivery. If you have video you’d like to post on our site for our readers, email me, and we can make the arrangements. It’s easier than you might think. Please note these videos are NOT required to be COVID-19 specific. In line with all of ONdrugDelivery content, they must fall within our scope of coverage – anything within or directly relevant to the worldwide drug delivery industry that will be of interest to our pharma/biopharma readers. Your video could be:

  • any presentation that has been researched, prepared, rehearsed but never given due to an event not taking place
  • a recorded webinar
  • a corporate video or message you’d like to publicise
  • a video explaining a technology or product offering to potential partners

Video/presentation/webinar publication in ONdrugDelivery is offered free to post, free to view, as a means for us to support any companies active in the drug delivery space and mitigate the impact of missed presentations and other opportunities missed due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

IN SUMMARY

At its essence, ONdrugDelivery’s role is to facilitate the flow of knowledge and information about drug delivery through the global biopharma industry. That’s what we do, and we feel very thankful that due to the nature of our business we are lucky enough to be able to continue to operate almost completely normally despite the virus outbreak.

We are pleased to offer ONdrugDelivery – an industry communication platform, still fully functional amidst widespread disruption – to help our readers, authors, clients and partners mitigate any negative impact on their ability to connect with the industry. This is how we feel we can help and keep information flowing through the industry during difficult times.

I’m open to all ideas as to how ONdrugDelivery as a communication/information platform can be used to help.

We are all looking forward to the time when we emerge triumphant the other side of this crisis, and everyone hopes that day comes quickly. Meanwhile, ONdrugDelivery intends to keep on keeping on with what we do best but – mindful that our work is far less severely impacted than many – we are going to be putting in extra, and taking a little less.

If you have news, videos/presentations, or can think of anything further we might offer to do more generally to help your organisation or others, please email.

Thanks for your continued interest in and support for ONdrugDelivery.

Best wishes,

Guy Furness
