Iain Simpson, PhD, is a Director in the Global Pharma Segment Team at Phillips-Medisize, where he is part of a global team developing industry-leading solutions and platforms for drug delivery, digital medicine and connected health. Dr Simpson has more than 35 years’ experience in multi-disciplinary technology and product development; the last 25 years of which have been in healthcare and increasingly focused on the use of devices and digital technologies to support better therapeutic delivery, create product differentiation, improve patient engagement and better measure clinical outcomes in the real world.

He has a degree and PhD in Physics, both from University College London (UK), and an MBE in Technology Management from the Open University. Dr Simpson has published and presented at conferences on drug delivery, digital biomarkers, healthcare technology and technology licensing. He is an associate lecturer at the University of Cambridge (UK) in Bioscience Enterprise.
