John van den Anker, PhD, MD, Chief Scientific Officer of AbbatiaLabs, is a Professor of Pediatrics, Pharmacology, Physiology, Genomics and Precision Medicine at the George Washington University School
of Medicine and Health Sciences (Washington, DC, US). He has been the President of the American College of Clinical Pharmacology (2016–2018) and the European Society of Developmental, Perinatal and Paediatric Pharmacology (2006–2008 and 2017–2019).

His research has focused on developmental, neonatal and paediatric pharmacology. He has authored over 600 peer-reviewed publications and has received NIH funding, as well as funding from the EU, to support his research and the development of training programmes in paediatric clinical pharmacology.
