WuXi AppTec was formed in 2021 when WuXi PharmaTech, founded by Dr Ge Li in 2000,  acquired US medical device testing and biologics firm AppTec Laboratory Services, Inc.

WuXi AppTec is a global company with operations across Asia, Europe and North America. Its shares are traded on the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE:603259).
