Athanasios Garoufas is Chief Business Development Officer at Gelatex Technologies, a materials company that develops and manufactures nanofibrous scaffolds using a patented solution-spinning process. He works across wound care, drug delivery, tissue engineering and advanced in vitro models, translating scaffold capabilities into
co-development programmes with industrial and academic partners.

He co-ordinates several European research consortia in tissue engineering and advanced in vitro modelling, and focuses on how new materials move from the laboratory into routine use.
