Ulrich Bruggemann, Lead, Advanced Drug Delivery Technical Development, at Takeda Pharmaceuticals, has been working on the development of medical device and diagnostics technologies and products for over 30 years in the US and Germany. After graduation from the University of Applied Sciences, Frankfurt (Germany), he has worked at Mass General Hospital, Nova Biomedical and Sanofi, and has been working at Takeda Pharmaceuticals for 7 years. Over the last 20 years, he has mainly focused on the development of drug-device combination products in various technical and management positions.

He recently led initiatives to identify promising innovative technologies at academic institutions and entrepreneurial startup companies. In his currently role, he leads early technology feasibility and device strategy activities focusing on rare diseases, as well as device sustainability activities. Mr Bruggemann is an employee of Takeda Development Center Americas, Inc, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Inc, and owns stock.
